‘Sanskrit for Children’ Workshop

On September 9, 2016, a ‘Sanskrit for Children’ workshop was conducted with the students of The Mother’s International School, New Delhi at their school premises.

The idea of this workshop was to inspire the students to connect with the Sanskrit language through various fun-filled methodologies and approaches, such as learning Sanskrit songs with actions, learning words and short sentences applicable in daily usage, and playing memory games in Sanskrit. In addition to this, there was a simple presentation for the students and the Sanskrit teachers on the uniqueness of the Sanskrit alphabet, in order to explain to them the scientific nature of the language and how easily it can be learnt once one knows the logic behind it.

The workshop was attended by 25 children in the age group of 12–14 years, and was facilitated by Dr. Sampadananda Mishra (Director, SAFIC and Founder, Samskrita Bala-Sahitya Parishad) and Ms. Archana Katira (a Sanskrit teacher from Mumbai).
